At Connaught Care, we pride ourselves on having a team of dedicated and passionate professionals who are committed to delivering the highest quality care. Today, we are thrilled to introduce you to one such remarkable individual, Catherine, our incredible General Manager. Over the past 12 months, Catherine has not only commissioned Henbrook House in St Neots but also successfully commissioned another home for us. Her journey and achievements are truly inspiring, and we are excited to share her story with you.
Catherine’s Journey in Care
Catherine’s career in care began at the age of 17 when she took a job as a care assistant while waiting to start university. She had studied Health and Social Care at college and planned to continue her education. However, fate had other plans for her. Catherine found her true calling in the care industry and decided to stay. Her passion and dedication quickly set her apart, and she became the youngest registered manager in the country. Over the next 20 years, she managed various care and nursing homes, gaining invaluable experience and working with amazing professionals.
A New Challenge with Connaught Care
After two decades in the industry, Catherine was presented with an exciting new challenge: commissioning a brand-new care home. This was an opportunity she had always wanted to undertake but had never found the right time. When Connaught Care approached her about The Chase, she knew it was the perfect chance to dive into the commissioning side of care homes.
Catherine was drawn to Connaught Care not only because of the luxurious homes being built but also because of the company’s strong ethos and commitment to delivering the highest quality care to residents. The values and vision of Connaught Care resonated deeply with her, and she was excited to be part of shaping the future of the company. Her passion for team development made her an ideal fit for this role, as she knew it was vital to bring the home to life.
Commissioning Successes
The commissioning of The Chase was a phenomenal success, thanks to Catherine’s leadership and the amazing support from the team. The home quickly embedded itself in the local community and surrounding areas. Following this success, Catherine was offered the opportunity to commission Henbrook House. She relished the chance to do it all again, working with wonderful contractors, designers, and the wider management team to create another extraordinary home for Connaught Care.
Personal Growth and Future Aspirations
Catherine’s personal growth and development over the past 13 months with Connaught Care have been remarkable. With a supportive team and the right level of autonomy, she has flourished in her role. The learning and development opportunities at Connaught Care are a significant attraction for new team members, enabling them to deliver extraordinary care in our homes.
Catherine’s Reflections
