Understanding Nursing Care at Connaught Care
Nursing Care is currently available at The Chase Huntington
At Connaught Care, we know that choosing the right care for yourself or a loved one can be a personal and tough choice. For individuals living with complex medical needs, our nursing care offers a reassuring, professional, and compassionate solution within an elegant and supportive environment. What Is Nursing Care?
Nursing care is a specialised form of residential care designed for individuals who require regular medical attention alongside daily personal support. This includes people with progressive conditions, such as dementia. It also includes those recovering from serious illness or injury. Additionally, it covers individuals who need palliative or end-of-life care.
Nursing care is different from standard residential care. It offers 24-hour support from qualified, registered nurses. These nurses work with a larger care team. Together, they provide both medical and personal care.
Itโs perfect for people who need more care than what can be safely managed at home. However, they do not need to be in a hospital.
If you are unsure whether you or your loved one needs nursing care, please contact any of our homes to discuss your specific needs as we may be able to support you.

Who Is Nursing Care For?
Our nursing care is suited to individuals with:
- Complex health conditions
- Neurological or degenerative illnesses
- Dementia or cognitive impairments
- Physical or sensory disabilities
- Terminal illness or palliative needs
- Rehabilitation requirements following surgery, stroke, or trauma
At Connaught Care, residents receive personalised care plans. These plans are made with input from individuals, families, doctors, specialists, and our clinical team. We watch health closely and respond quickly to any changes. We make sure each resident gets the right support when they need it.

- Comfortable, well-appointed en-suite rooms
- Nutritious, chef-prepared meals tailored to health and dietary needs
- Regular wellbeing activities, therapies, and social engagement
We place great emphasis on building relationshipsโwith our residents, their families, and the healthcare professionals who support them. Thatโs why we also provide open communication, family involvement, and opportunities for shared decision-making at every stage.
Nursing Care vs. Residential Care โ Whatโs the Difference?
While both settings offer round-the-clock support, the difference lies in the level of clinical expertise. Residential care focuses on daily living support such as personal hygiene, mobility, and social interaction. Nursing care includes support from qualified nurses who can manage medications, health needs, and clinical treatments.

Cost of Nursing Care
Cost of Nursing Care
Nursing care typically involves higher staffing ratios, specialist equipment, and clinical oversight, which is reflected in the weekly cost. Prices can vary depending on location, level of care required, and accommodation preferences.
Some residents may be eligible for local authority contributions or NHS support such as:
- Funded Nursing Care (FNC) โ a flat-rate contribution from the NHS to help cover nursing costs
- Continuing Healthcare (CHC) โ full NHS funding for those with complex health needs
- Attendance Allowance and other benefits may also apply
We are happy to guide you through the funding process and work closely with families to understand their financial options.
